For Mom: Mother’s Day is Sunday and people are turning to Yahoo! for details. 56% of searches for Mother’s Day this week have been from females. Searches for “printable mother’s day cards” are up 1377% this week and searches for “mother’s day craft ideas” are up 700%.
Kentucky Derby: Searches for this Saturday’s Kentucky Derby are up 480% this week and the top searched racehorse this week on Yahoo! is “Uncle Mo.” We’re even seeing searches for “mint julep recipes” spike off the charts the week as people prepare the traditional Kentucky Derby beverage.
Sun Safety: With the temperature rising are more people turning to spray tanning? Searches this week for “how to prepare for a spray tan” are spiking on Yahoo!. 74% of searches this month come from females. Searches for “spray tan” on Yahoo! spike in March and continue through August.
Travel Season: Travel season is here and it is clear from searches on Yahoo! that people are going abroad. Searches have increased for “passport covers”, “passport forms”, and “passport photo requirements”. Who is searching the most for passports this month? According to Yahoo! Clues 55% of searches are from females and 36% of searches come from those under 34 (male and female).
George Clooney: The two-time “Sexiest Man Alive” winner turns the big 5-0 tomorrow and searches for him are spiking this week. There seems to be lots of interest for his movies and 44% of searches this week are by men.
